Creative director Stefano Pilati showed his final collection for the French fashion house, but a certain something was lacking
Backstage after his last show for Yves Saint Laurent, Stefano Pilati couldn't have been more gracious, individually thanking everyone, from working journalists to Catherine Deneuve (a mascot of the brand since she wore it in Belle du Jour in 1967) and a mournful looking Katy Perry for coming.

Parijs Fashion Week Yves Saint Laurent spring/summer 2012
Yves Saint Laurent's jewel-coloured collectie maakt een buiging naar chique prints voor spring/summer 2012 en geen kanariepietje geel te vinden.
Zo aanhoudend zijn de geruchten rondom Stefano Pilati's toekomst bij YSL (zal hij wel of zal hij niet worden verdrongen voor Raf Simons?) dat het een eerbetoon aan zijn wilskracht is dat hij uberhaupt iets op de catwalk kreeg. Dat is bleek zo gericht en to the point, dat het des te meer bevredigend voor hem geweest moet zijn, en verbazingwekkend voor zijn critici.
