The sportswear master, Alexander Wang tries a new fashion marriage of tweed and fishnet at New York Fashion Week.
When tweed met fishnet? Described so baldly, it sounds so, so wrong: a nightmare fashion-fusion of Downton Abbey and Belle de Jour . But in the hands of Alexander Wang, it worked - despite the stupid (albeit eye-catching) styling decision to pull the models' fish-netted polo necks up to under their noses, so that they resembled gags. What an empowering message that is.
